Field Day

The Tri-County Amateur Radio Emergency Services group, serving Ware, Pierce, and Brantley Counties, invites all area ham radio operators as well as the general public who may be interested in amateur radio to this year's Field Day activities.

It will be Saturday, June 26th at the Ware County Emergency Management Agency located at the Ware Emergency Operations Center, 3395 Harris Road in Waycross.

Operators will be on site starting at noon to set up and test equipment for the 2pm start to the national field day event and will be on the air for several hours making contacts around the country to other stations deployed in the field who are also demonstrating the service in their respective areas.

Folks are invited to come out and learn about the hobby and can even operate a radio on site under the supervision of a licensed operator.

Ware EMA Director Jonathan Daniell is a collaborative partner to the group's efforts and encourages licensed operators and other persons interested in ham radio to come out and see what amateur radio is all about and just how easy it is to get licensed.
